There's no mistaking that
you're in the South when you're in Louisiana (Looz-e-annah).
There is a lot of history here dating back to the 1800s.
There is a wide variety of cultures, from the Cajuns,
who live primarily on the bayou where they make their
way by fishing and trapping to the Catholics and Protestants
who live in the many parishes throughout the state. Louisiana
boasts many picturesque plantation estates. Southern hospitality
is evident when traveling through this gracious state.
There is also another, more controversial side, i.e.,
New Orleans has been the home of famous gangland figures
and corruption. And there is Mardi Gras, which takes place
in February. Although hospitality is a major characteristic
of the local residents, New Orleans remains a place in
which to exercise care when visiting for the first time,
as it has emerged as one of the crime capitals of the
country. Nevertheless, there is much to see and do. For

Louisiana began riverboat gambling in 1993 and land based
Indian gaming followed. There are no limits to the amount
that can be wagered by law, however, each casino has established
their it's limits. In some cases there may be a fee to
gain entry into the casino. All games are available.
